GENERAL INFORMATION FOR QUINCY YOUTH BASKETBALL

PROGRAM FOR 2011-2012 SEASON

Programs for Boys and Girls in Grades 3-8:

Practices begin November 4, 2011 and continue through February 19, 2012.  Playoffs begin in early March, 2012 (THERE WILL BE NO PRACTICES ON NOVEMBER 25TH, DECEMBER 23RD & DECEMBER 30TH).

• The first games will be held on Sunday, December 4, 2011.  You will receive a game schedule prior to the first game.  Games will be held each Sunday thereafter into February (THERE WILL BE NO GAMES DURING THANKSGIVING, CHRISTMAS AND NEW YEAR'S WEKENDS).
• Our season runs from early November, 2011 to mid February, 2012 with playoffs extending into March.  Playoff schedules will be posted after the last games.

Program for Grades 1 and 2 (Duffy Division) @ Lincoln Hancock School:

• Practice will begin on November 5, 2011.  After Christmas break there will be scrimmages during the second half of each practice.
• The season runs from November 5, 2011 to February 18, 2012.  There will be  no practices during Thanksgiving, Christmas or New Year's weekends.

Quincy Youth Basketball is the premier youth basketball league in Quincy. Some of our benefits for players in grades 3-8 include:

• Adult coaches
• IAABO certified referees at all games
• No more than 10 players per team
• 40 minute games (two 20 minute halves)
• Set locations and schedules for practices and games
• Friday night practice tee and team game jersey
• Travel teams for eligible boys (Grades 6-8) and girls (Grades 5-8)

For the Duffy Division (Grades 1-2):

• Adult coaches
• Up to 12 players (co-ed) per team
• One hour instructional practice time each week
• team tee shirt

If your son or daughter is in grades 1-8, then Quincy Youth Basketball is the league for you!

QYB Travel, Presidents Division:  In 2010, the Quincy Presidents Boys Travel Basketball program became part of Quincy Youth Basketball.  That program is now known as QYB Travel, Presidents Division.  All boys in Grades 6-8 are eligible to try out for the Travel Teams.  Tryouts will be held in October and will be announced at a later date.  Game schedules and additional information can be found on the link at left and are updated as necessary.  The Boys Travel Teams play in the South Shore Youth Basketball League.  All players on the travel teams are required to be active participants in the in-house league.  There is an additional fee to play on the travel teams.

QYB Travel, Abigail Division (Girls 6-8):  The Girls Travel (Abigail Division) has been postponed for the 2011-2012 season

QYB Travel, Adams Division:  All boys in Grades 4 and 5 are eligible to try out for the Travel Teams.  Tryouts will be held on November 12, 2011 at 12:00 noon at Lincoln Hancock for all players currently registered.  Travel players play in the South Shore Prep League and will have to travel to other South Shore communities for some games. There is an additional fee to play on the travel teams.

PLEASE NOTE THAT ALL REGISTRATION FEES MUST BE PAID IN FULL BEFORE YOUR CHILD IS PLACED ON A TEAM ROSTER (IN-HOUSE AND TRAVEL).
